The P.I.C.E. Student Services team organises its own activities. Every Friday afternoon there is a different activity. This can be anything from beach volleyball to horseriding, or a museum visit to Bike riding in Kings Park. The activities programme is varied and suits every student budget. All the activities are accompanied by a teacher or member of staff.

There are also plenty of weekend excursions to join. P.I.C.E. works together with a local tour company which specialises in student getaways in Western Australia. Amongst the popular ones are Monkey Mia, South West Trip or Pinnacles at Sunset. Bookings and payments can be made at P.I.C.E. and a new programme is available at reception every month.

A dedicated Student Services Co-ordinator is available at P.I.C.E to book accommodation for students, assist them with their enquiries and advise them on all aspects of accommodation in Perth.

HOMESTAY

P.I.C.E. believes homestay accommodation can be of great benefit to English Language students, as they are able to experience authentic English in a family environment.  Even if students would prefer to live in a private shared house, we recommend students start in homestay accommodation for the first four weeks, while they look for suitable shared accommodation.

All P.I.C.E homestays are carefully chosen to ensure students receive a high standard of accommodation and a warm, friendly welcome to Western Australia.

Homestay students have their own room with a bed, desk and wardrobe space.  Students in homestay receive breakfast and dinner during the week (half board) and breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday and public holidays.

Most P.I.C.E homestays are within 45 minutes travelling time from the school by bus and/or train.  Perth has an easy-to-use and inexpensive public transport system.  The P.I.C.E student card entitles students who study for six weeks or more to buy a student ticket for Perth’s transport system. which gives a 45% discount on adult fares.  Students are responsible for their own travel costs between their homestay and P.I.C.E.

HOSTEL

Some students prefer to stay in a hostel.  P.I.C.E can book students into a local hostel only 15 minutes walk from the college.  This option is for the more independent students who wants to enjoy city living at an affordable price.  You will have your own room and shared kitchen and bathroom facilities.  For more information about facilities and prices have a look at the Townsend Lodge  website.

CAMPUS PERTH

Stay in your own space complete with cool decor, the hottest technology and fresh furniture. Along with your own room, you can also choose to have your own bathroom. Campus Perth is the latest offering for students looking for city central accommodation with a great community life. To find out more, please download the brochure here or visit the website.

RENTAL PROPERTIES

Some students who are going to be in Australia for a number of years studying may prefer to rent a house with other students or friends.  Properties are advertised on the Real Estate Institute of Western Australia website and in the local papers. You may need to pay four weeks rent up front as well as a bond of a month’s rent and the cost of getting the gas, electricity and telephone connected.
